High School/Juniors:
 The Wawa, Ont. product finished his junior career by winning a championship with the Carleton Place Canadians in the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL). The Canadians then advanced to the Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) Championship, where they finished as the runner-up in the finals of the 2015 Royal Bank Cup.

Before the move to Carleton Place, Killins played in 26 United States Hockey League (USHL) games for the Muskegon Lumberjacks, posting seven points on two goals and five assists. The defenseman began with the Huron Perth Lakers Midget AAA squad before playing for the Stratford Cullitons in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League (GOJHL) for two seasons. In his tenure with Stratford, Killins recorded 67 points from the blueline on 24 goals and 43 assists in 96 games. At the conclusion of the 2013-14 season, he was named Defenseman of the Year by the GOJHL.
