Freshman (2015-16 Season): Helped FSU to a NCAA Regional Final appearance as well as the first WCHA Tournament Championship in team history...Suited up for 14 contests during his rookie season and was credited with five assists...Earned his first career point Oct. 23 vs. Wisconsin...Notched first collegiate multi-point game Nov. 20 vs. Alaska...Had points in back-to-back games on Dec. 5 and Dec. 11.
High School/Juniors: The defenseman from London, Ont. competed for the Cornwall Colts and was named a First Team All-Star in the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL)…Tierney had five goals and 30 assists in 52 games for the Colts during the 2014-15 season…A year prior in 2013-14, Tierney put up 41 points on 13 goals and 28 assists in 55 contests as a rookie for the Ottawa Junior Senators and was named to Team East for the CJHL Prospects Game.
The 5-11 blueliner also played at the midget AAA level for the London Junior Knights and the London Nationals in 2012-13…Tierney was named to the National Hockey League Central Scouting preliminary watch list for the 2015 NHL Entry Draft and was tabbed among the CJHL Players to Watch before the 2014-15 season.
