Sophomore (2016-17 Season): Played in 21 games for Ferris State…finished with a save percentage of .902 and goals against average of 2.96…had WCHA’s highest save percentage from Nov. 23-March 2 at .940, marked a league-best 1.75 goals against average in that time…had two shutouts, the first coming Dec. 9 at home vs. Minnesota State on 36 saves, the second on Feb. 18 vs. Alaska Anchorage on 23 saves.

Freshman (2015-16 Season): Backstopped Ferris State to a NCAA Regional Final contest, as well as the first WCHA Tournament Championship in school history...Earned College Hockey News' best rookie goaltender in the nation award for 2015-16...Earned the 2016 WCHA Final Five All-Tournament Most Valuable Player award...In two games at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Smith posted a .977 save percentage with one shutout and a 0.50 goals against average...Twice was a WCHA Player of the Month in January and March and earned WCHA Player of the Week honors five times...The freshman posted a 17-10-5 record with a .919 save percentage in his rookie season...His three shutouts tied him for the school record for single-season shutouts by a freshman goaltender...Smith amassed a team-leading 31 starts and played 1,902:02 minutes over 33 total games for FSU...Notched his first career win in his first collegiate start on Oct. 24 vs. Wisconsin...Earned first collegiate shutout on Nov. 27 vs. Lake Superior State.

High School/Juniors: A native of Barrie, Ont., Smith was part of the inaugural roster for the United States Hockey League’s Madison Capitals (USHL) during the 2014-15 season…In 40 contests, the 5-11 goaltender had a save percentage of .909 while making 1,121 saves in more than 2,000 minutes of action.

Prior to his time in Madison, Smith was with the Pembroke Lumber Kings in the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) where he recorded a 2.81 goals against average and a .916 save percentage in 44 contests during the 2013-14 season…Smith twice helped Pembroke to the postseason in 2012-13 and 2013-14…In each of his two years with Pembroke, Smith had 24 total wins.
