Bulldogs Fall At Bemidji State To Cap Road Trip

Bemidji, MN. - The Ferris State University men's ice hockey team fell 4-1 to the Bemidji State Beavers on Saturday (Jan. 4) at the Sanford Center in Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) play.

The Beavers jumped in front on the power play at 8:11 of the first period when Tommy Muck fired a shot inside the left goal post for a 1-0 BSU lead.

At 15:16 of the opening period, freshman defenseman Jake Willets unloaded a missile for the top left corner over the arm of BSU goaltender Zach Driscoll to even the score at 1-1. The goal was the second of the season for Willets, while junior forward Liam MacDougall picked up his eighth assist of the year on the play.

The Beavers scored the game-winning goal at 19:43 of the second period on the power play when Adam Brady finished on the rush. Brady tallied again at 4:50 of the third period, followed by Owen Sillinger at 11:18 for the 4-1 lead.

Bemidji State went 3-4 on the power play, while Ferris State finished 0-1 on the night. In goal, Ferris State senior goaltender Austin Shaw made 29 saves, while Driscoll picked up the win on 18 stops for the Beavers.

Bemidji State held a 33-19 advantage in shots on goal for the game.

Ferris State returns home to take on the Minnesota State Mavericks on Friday, Jan. 10 at 7:07 pm ET, and Saturday, Jan. 11 at 6:07 pm ET.
