Minutes later, Ferris State went ahead 2-0 when senior forward Marshall Moise scored his second of the year, finessing his way down the left wing lane and backhanding a shot past Carr at 5:38 of the opening period. Freshman forward Antonio Venuto (4) and Transit (6) picked up helpers on the play.

The Beavers responded when Owen Sillinger registered a natural hat trick, scoring at 6:38 of the first and 54 seconds of the second period on the power play, before a shorthanded goal at 12:26 of the middle frame for a 3-2 Beaver lead.

His brother Lukas Sillinger tallied next on the man advantage at 17:46 of the second period to make it a 4-2 game.
