2020-21 (Junior): Led  Bulldog goaltenders in minutes played at 759:01 in 14 outings…made 398 stops…had a 3.87 goals against average and one shutout…allowed just two goals on 30 shots to eventual Frozen Four bound Minnesota State in final game of the season…had six outings with a save percentage north of .905.

2019-20: (Sophomore): Played 883 minutes to lead all Bulldog goaltenders…was a WCHA Player of the week for the week of Jan. 27…led Ferris State goaltenders in wins for second straight season…started 15 games…had an .879 save percentage and 3.53 goals against average.

2018-19: Started 24 games and appeared in 28 for Ferris State as a freshman in 2018-19…finished with an .891 save percentage and a 3.38 goals against average in 1,562:41 of time on ice…finished with nine of Ferris State’s 10 victories…registered one shutout, his second start of the season in a 4-0 win over Alaska Anchorage in which he made 27 stops…tied program record in amount of starts needed to record their first shutout (2)…picked up his first collegiate victory, a 5-2 win over Mercyhurst on October 19, 2018 at Ewigleben Ice Arena, making 21 saves…finished hot, recording a .944 save percentage over his final six outings with a 3-3-0 record in that span…three-time WCHA Player of the Week Honoree…had a career-best 44 saves in a 3-2 road win at the University of Minnesota on December 29, 2018 at Mariucci Ice Arena…had 30 or more save six times as a freshman.

Salmenkangas joined the Bulldog roster as a 19-year old product of the HPK U20 program in Finland out of Jr. A SM-lliga, where he compiled an impressive .930 save percentage with a 1.58 goals against average in 45 regular season outings. In the postseason, he also made five appearances with a .926 save percentage and a 1.80 goals against average.
