Bulldog Co-Captain Stewart Inks Professional Deal With Tulsa Oilers

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Tulsa Oilers announced the signing of Bulldog senior captain Ethan Stewart to an ECHL deal this past weekend. Stewart recently capped his Bulldog career this past winter.

Stewart battled injuries in his first two seasons, but played in 76 contests for the Bulldogs over the last four seasons with 11 goals and 18 assists for 29 points as a Bulldog. Of his points, 27 came in his final 55 games with the Bulldogs, including all 11 goals.

The Springfield, Ill., native finished the 2021-22 season tied for fifth in team scoring with 13 points (5-8-13) in 30 games. He fired 48 shots on goal and had a pair of power play goals, which was second-most on the team. 

The Tulsa Oilers are currently fifth in the ECHL's Mountain Division and only one, one thousandth of a point behind the fourth-place Allen Americans in points percentage, through 60 games.

Stewart made his professional debut over the weekend and is wearing jersey #55 for the Oilers. He has dressed in one game and is looking to help Tulsa to a win over the Detroit Red Wings' affiliate. the Toledo Walleye, tonight at 7:00 p.m. (CT). Bulldog alum Ryan Lowney currently plays for the Walleye.
