
Ferris State Hockey Unveils 2025-26 Schedule Under First-Year Head Coach Brett Riley
Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's ice hockey program has announced a highly-competitive regular-season slate for the 2025-26 campaign as the Bulldogs get set for their debut season under first-year head coach Brett Riley.
The upcoming slate was unveiled in conjunction with the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) composite schedule release on Tuesday.
The Bulldogs are slated to play a total of 15 regular-season home contests inside the Ewigleben Ice Arena this coming season.
"We are excited to announce this season's upcoming schedule and compete at the highest level possible both in CCHA play and out of conference matchups," said Riley. "Each week presents an exciting opportunity and challenge. I can't wait for the puck to drop in October."
Ferris State will open the 2025-26 season on the road against Miami (Ohio) for the third consecutive year. The season opener against the RedHawks is set for Friday, Oct. 3 with the finale on Saturday, Oct. 4.
Following the opening weekend, the Bulldogs will face longtime in-state rival and defending national champion Western Michigan in a traditional home-and-home series on Oct. 9-10. FSU will travel to Kalamazoo on Thursday, Oct. 9, before hosting the Broncos in the home opener and Riley's debut game at the Ewigleben Ice Arena on Friday, Oct. 10.
The Bulldogs will head to Plymouth, Mich., on Oct. 17-18 for a pair of exhibition games at the USA Hockey Arena. FSU will take on the Canadian Under 18 squad in the opener of the National Team Development Program (NTDP) Showcase before facing the US Under 18 squad in the finale.
Ferris State will open CCHA play on Oct. 24-25 in Houghton against Michigan Tech before then returning home on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 to host Lindenwood for the first-time ever. FSU returns to CCHA play on Nov. 7-8 with home matchups versus Augustana before traveling to Ohio to face Bowling Green on Nov. 14-15. The final games prior to the Thanksgiving holdiay are a two-game home set against Lake Superior State on Nov. 21-22.
FSU plays its final two series' prior to the traditional Christmas holiday break in early December, first on the road at Minnesota State on Dec. 5-6 before hosting Michigan Tech the following week on Dec. 12-13.
Over the holiday break, the Bulldogs will return to Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids for the annual Great Lakes Invitational on Dec. 28-29. The field will include FSU, Michigan State, Miami and host Michigan Tech with the official matchups and game times to be announced.
The second half of the season continues on Jan. 2-3 with a league road series at St. Thomas followed by home games versus traditional rival Bowling Green on Jan. 9-10. FSU will then play another conference road series at Augustana on Jan. 16-17. After a bye week, Ferris State hosts defending league champion Minnesota State on Jan. 30-31.
In February, the Bulldogs will venture to Bemidji State on Feb. 6-7 before playing host to Northern Michigan in the final regular-season home action on Feb. 13-14. The final games of the league regular season are on Feb. 26-27 at Lake Superior State.
The quest for the Mason Cup Championship begins with the CCHA Quarterfinals on March 6-8 with the CCHA Semifinals and the CCHA Championship game to be played again on campus sites on March 14 and March 20, respectively.
