Bulldog Men's Tennis Drops First Match On Annual Spring Break Trip

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's tennis team opened its annual spring break action on the road Saturday (March 8), but ran into a formidable opponent as Northwestern Ohio raced to a 8-1 win over the Bulldogs in non-conference action at Lima, Ohio.

The host Racers swept the doubles round and took five of six singles flights in handing the Bulldogs the road setback. It opened up a five-match trip for the Bulldogs in three states over the annual university spring break period.

Ferris State's lone win against the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) opponent came from Otto Keresztes by a 7-5, 6-4 count.

With the loss, the Bulldogs fell to 2-8 overall this campaign while Northwestern Ohio moved to 11-1 overall with the triumph.

The Bulldogs will next travel to Georgia to face highly-regarded Valdosta State on Tuesday (March 11) starting at 2 p.m. (ET). FSU then faces Flagler on Wednesday (March 12) in St. Augustine, Fla., before squaring off against Georgia College on Friday (March 14) and North Georgia on Saturday (March 15) to round out the spring trip.
