Ferris State Men's Tennis Wins Spring Home Opener Over Northwestern Ohio
Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's tennis team claimed a victory in its spring home opener on Saturday (Feb. 21) as FSU picked up a 6-3 non-league triumph over Northwestern Ohio at the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center in Big Rapids.
The Bulldogs moved to 2-1 on the year by topping the Racers in morning action.
Ferris State built a 2-1 lead following the doubles round as FSU captured wins at the first and third flights in tandem play. The Bulldogs then won four of the six singles flights with Northwestern Ohio's lone wins coming at the first and fifth spots in the lineup.
The Bulldogs picked up all four of their singles victories in straight-sets.
Ferris State follows Saturday's match by visiting rival Grand Valley State for a league dual on Wednesday (Feb. 25) night starting at 9 p.m. (ET) and will then return home to host Olivet Nazarene and Indianapolis in non-conference competition on Friday and Saturday (Feb. 27-28), respectively.
