Ferris State Men's Tennis Posts Biggest Win Of Season To Date With Regional Victory

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's tennis team picked up its biggest win of the season to date as the Bulldogs completed a three-match weekend home sweep with a 7-2 triumph over the Lewis (Ill.) Flyers in regional action on Sunday (Feb. 21) at the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center.

The Bulldogs improved to 5-1 overall this season by topping the Flyers of the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) in a Midwest Region tilt.

The victory was FSU's third in as many days at the Racquet and Fitness Center this weekend as Ferris State previously topped Salem International 9-0 on Friday (Feb. 19) and then beat St. Joseph's (Ind.) 9-0 in regional play on Saturday (Feb. 20) at home.

With the win, the Bulldogs also improved to 5-0 overall this season on their home court inside the Racquet & Fitness Center.

Ferris State claimed two of the three doubles flights to start the day with the lone loss coming at the number one position where the Bulldog tandem of Vasil Surduk and Nur Adim Ramdani Iswan fell in close fashion to Lewis' nationally sixth-ranked pairing of Alan Braschinsky and Mate Srdanovic by a tight 9-8 (5) score.

In singles play, the Bulldogs rolled with straight-set wins at five of the six flights.

Ferris State is next back in action on Saturday (Feb. 27) as FSU concludes a four-match homestand by hosting Southern Indiana in another regional match starting at 10 a.m. (ET) in Big Rapids.
