Ferris State Stays Unbeaten Atop GLIAC By Completing Weekend Home Sweep

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's tennis team kept its hold on first place in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) standings as the Bulldogs capped a weekend home sweep with a 9-0 triumph over Michigan Tech on Sunday (April 10) in league play at the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center.

The Bulldogs ran their league regular-season winning streak to 14-straight matches while improving to 15-4 overall this season and a perfect 5-0 in the GLIAC with the win. Meanwhile, MTU fell to 4-9 overall and 1-5 in conference play.

The win was the second in as many days for the Bulldogs following Saturday's 9-0 home win over Lake Superior State to open the conference homestand.

In Sunday's victory, Ferris State again swept the doubles round with convincing wins at all three flights in the lineup. The Bulldogs then took all six singles positions, which included a three-set triumph at the third spot.

A total of seven Bulldog players picked up at least one win on the day with five posting two victories each in the match.

The victory also lifted the Bulldogs to a perfect 9-0 at hoome this camapign.

Ferris State next hits the road for two big conference matches next weekend. The Bulldogs visit archrival Northwood on Saturday (April 16) before facing Wayne State on Sunday (April 17) in Detroit. Both matches start at 10 a.m. (ET). NU and WSU are the only other teams besides FSU still unbeaten in the GLIAC heading into the week.
