Bulldog Men's Tennis Completes Upper Peninsula Sweep With Impressive Triumph Over Michigan Tech

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's tennis squad made quick work of the Michigan Tech Huskies on Sunday (April 2) as the nationally 15th-ranked Bulldogs stormed to a 9-0 sweep in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

Ferris State wrapped up its two-match weekend swing in the UP by topping the Huskies in Houghton.

The Bulldogs swept the doubles round in impressive fashion by scores of 8-0 at the number one flight along with 8-2 at the second spot in the lineup and 8-1 at third doubles.

In singles competition, all six flights went to Ferris State in straight-sets and the closest margin of victory in any one set was 6-4 in favor of the Bulldogs.

FSU got a pair of wins from its top four players in the lineup in Till von Winning, Vasil Surduk, Steward Stell and Nur Adim Ramdani Iswan. Overall, eight different players recorded at least one win for Ferris State in the triumph.

With the win, the Bulldogs improved to 12-2 overall and remain atop the GLIAC standings with a perfect 5-0 conference record. FSU is currently riding a six-match win streak.

Ferris State returns home for a pair of league matches next weekend at the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center in Big Rapids. The Bulldogs host longtime GLIAC rival Northwood on Friday (April 7) at 2 p.m. (ET) before entertaining Wayne State on Sunday (April 9) in a 10 a.m. (ET) tilt.
