Nationally-Ranked Bulldogs Sweep Aquinas To Open Weekend Tennis Homestand

Big Rapids, Mich. - The nationally 25th-ranked Ferris State University men's tennis team opened up a weekend homestand with a dominating 9-0 triumph over Aquinas on Saturday (Feb. 17) at the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center in Big Rapids.

The Bulldogs improved to 2-1 on the year with the non-conference victory for their second-straight win this campaign under first-year head coach Daniel Hangstefer.

FSU opened up an early 3-0 lead following the doubles round by sweeping the Saints with scores of 8-5, 8-1 and 8-2 from the first to third flights, respectively.

In singles action, the Bulldogs claimed all six flights in straight-sets to hand the Saints the setback.

Ferris State will return to action at home on Sunday (Feb. 18) as the Bulldogs host former league opponent Hillsdale in regional non-conference action starting at 10 a.m. (ET) at the Racquet and Fitness Center.
