Ferris State Men's Tennis Picks UP Fourth-Straight Win In Past Week

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's tennis squad won its fourth consecutive match in the past week as the Bulldogs rolled to a 8-1 win over Newberry (S.C.) in non-league action at the Spring TennisFest on Tuesday (March 6) in Hilton Head, S.C.

The Bulldogs improved to 7-2 on the year with a big win in the neutral site tilt. The victory was FSU's third-straight in the Spring TennisFest event.

Ferris State jumped in front early 3-0 on the strength of the doubles round with the three scores determined by counts of 8-6, 8-5 and 8-5 from the one to three spots in the lineup, respectively.

The Bulldogs also picked up wins at the final five singles positions, including a pair of three-set triumphs from Daniil Tarantinov at the third position and Pablo Munoz Baroja at the fifth flight.

The lone win for Newberry came in singles play at the number one flight.

Ferris State hits the court again on Wednesday (March 7) against Davis & Elkins starting at 8 a.m. (ET) before concluding the Spring TennisFest against Assumption on Thursday (March 8) at 8:30 a.m. (ET).
