FSU Men's Tennis Finishes Perfect On Spring Trip With Sixth Consecutive Victory

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's tennis team capped off its spring break trip with an unblemished mark as the Bulldogs rolled to their sixth consecutive win in the past week with a decisive 9-0 shutout over Assumption on Thursday (March 8) in Hilton Head, S.C.

The Bulldogs claimed the win in their final match on a week-long trip, which included a regional tilt at Southern Indiana followed by five outings at the Spring TennisFest in Hilton Head.

FSU bolted out early with an 8-5 win at one doubles along with an 8-0 victory at the second flight and a 8-1 triumph at the number three position to build a 3-0 edge heading into singles play.

The singles round was dominated by FSU with all six flights going in straight-sets, including a pair of perfect 6-0, 6-0 wins at the fifth and sixth flights in the lineup.

Ferris State improved to 9-2 overall this campaign with the victory.

The Bulldogs will now return home for a regional matchup against Lewis (Ill.) on Friday, March 23, in Big Rapids at the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center starting at 10 a.m. (ET). FSU then opens Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) action at home the following day on March 24 versus Michigan Tech.
