Bulldog Men's Tennis Notches Shutout In Season-Opening Triumph
Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's tennis squad opened the 2020 season with a big win on Saturday (Feb. 8) night as the Bulldogs rolled past Rose-Hulman 7-0 in non-league play at the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center.
The Bulldogs played their first dual match of the campaign and earned the season-opening triumph with the decisive victory.
In doubles action, the Bulldogs claimed the point by taking the top two spots in the lineup by identical 6-4 scores with Pablo Munoz Baroja teaming up with Mathis Guerre at the number one flight and the pairing of Josh McDermott and Cedric Rupa garnering the triumph at two doubles.
The Bulldogs then took all six singles flights with the top five all determined in straight-sets. Alec Olivier earned a three-set win at the sixth singles position while Baroja had the most decisive win with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep at the number two flight.
Ferris State will return to action on Feb. 18 when FSU visits NCAA Division I Western Michigan for a 2 p.m. (ET) encounter in Kalamazoo.
