Bulldog Men's Tennis Falls To NCAA Division I Western Michigan In Road Action

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's tennis squad squared off against in-state NCAA Division I foe Western Michigan on Tuesday (Feb. 18) in Kalamazoo, falling by a 7-0 count.

The host Broncos claimed the doubles point and then garnered the six singles wins to account for the final margin.

"Although the scores aren't what we were looking for, I'm happy with many of the guys learning something from their matches," said head coach Mark Doren. "A special shot out goes to freshman Alec Olivier and Andrew Swirczek with a close 7-6 loss in doubles and Alec taking his match to a 3rd set against a veteran senior player from WMU.

"Overall, it was a great warm up before we head out of town this weekend to play three regional opponents," he added.

The setback evened the Bulldogs' overall mark to 1-1 on the year.

FSU will visit Indianapolis on Friday (Feb. 21) for a 4 p.m. (ET) tilt in Indianapolis and then face Findlay on Saturday (Feb. 22) starting at 1 p.m. (ET) in Ohio. The Bulldogs close out the trip on Sunday (Feb. 23) against Tiffin beginning at 9:30 a.m. (ET).
