Bulldog Men's Tennis Stays Perfect With Regional Road Triumph At Findlay

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's tennis squad remained unbeaten as the Bulldogs garnered a dominating 7-0 regional road victory over the Findlay Oilers on Saturday (Feb. 12) in Findlay, Ohio.

The Bulldogs took the non-conference tilt at the YMCA East courts in Findlay, picking up the doubles point by winning two of the three flights before proceeding to claim all six singles positions to move to 2-0 on the year.

"It was an outstanding day for our men's team," said FSU head coach Mark Doren. "Just two years ago, we lost 6-1 at Findlay so it was very impressive to come out playing very aggressive and take control of the match.

"There's no one specific to single out on a day like this because everyone really played great," Doren added.

FSU picked up 6-0 and 6-4 wins at the first and third doubles positions, respectively.

In singles play, the Bulldogs won five of the six flights in straight-sets with the number one spot pulled out by senior standout Mathis Guerre in three by a 7-6, 6-4, 6-4 count.

Ferris State will visit Hillsdale on Sunday (Feb. 13) as FSU continues regional road competition with match time set for 3:30 p.m. (ET) in Tiffin, Ohio.
