Ferris State Men's Tennis Off To Big Start After Day One At ITA Regional Championships
Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's tennis squad got off to a great start at the 2025 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Midwest Regional Championships as play unfolded and began on Saturday (Sept. 27).
The event, which is being hosted by Grand Valley State, features the top competitors from across the region competing in both individual singles and doubles play. A total of 172 participants were included in the field.
FSU's Kevin Kovacs, who entered as the number two seed in the main singles draw, advanced to the singles round of 16 as did freshman Praneel Pichika.
Meanwhile, the doubles squad of Kevin and Erik Kovacs also advanced to the round of 16.
Action at the regional event continues on Sunday.
