FSU's Kevin Kovacs Falls In Semifinal Round On Final Day At ITA Regional Championships
Big Rapids, Mich. - Ferris State University men's standout Kevin Kovacs reached the final day of singles play at the 2025 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Midwest Regional Championships, but fell on Monday in the semifinal round.
The event, which was hosted by Grand Valley State, featured the top competitors from across the region competing in both individual singles and doubles play. A total of 172 participants were included in the field.
Kovacs, who entered as the number two seed in the main singles draw, moved into the semifinals with a pair of wins in day two action on Sunday before falling on Monday by a 7-6 (7-3), 6-2 score to eventual champion Asier Ayllon Prado of Indianapolis.
The Bulldogs will next be in action on Oct. 4-5 at the Hillsdale Invitational.
