Selected Track Athletes Compete In GVSU Meet

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's indoor track and field teams started off the 2010-11 campaign by sending selected student-athletes to the Grand Valley State Holiday Open held Friday (Dec. 17).

The event was held inside the Laker Turf Building at Allendale and hosted by GVSU.  The competition included competitors from a variety of schools across the region including FSU, GVSU, St. Joseph's (Ind.), Aquinas, Indiana Tech and others.

Sophomore Carlvin Dorvilier took fourth place for the Bulldog men in the 800 meters (2:05.50) while freshman Demetrius Johnson was fifth in the long jump (21-1.25) in leading the small FSU contingent which competed in the meet.

The Bulldogs will return to action after the holiday break by sending student-athletes to the Grand Valley State Bob Eubanks Open on Jan. 14 in Allendale.
