Ferris State Track & Field Posts Six Top-10 Finishes At SVSU Jet's Pizza Invite

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's indoor track and field teams got back into action on Saturday (Jan. 30) as the Bulldogs took part in the Jet's Pizza Invitational hosted by Saginaw Valley State inside the SVSU Fieldhouse in University Center, Mich.

A large number of competitors from schools such as FSU, SVSU, Michigan State, Central Michigan, Davenport, Wayne State, Alma, Aquinas and others took part in the all-day meet.
Ferris State's men's and women's squads combined for a total of 16 performances in the top 18 overall, including six top 10 meet finishes.

On the women's side, the quartet of Paige Koskinen, Shea Van Klompenberg, Jordan Lee and Jessica Delaney won the women's distance medley relay as they clocked 12:36.42 in the race.

Delaney also finished 11th in the women's 3,000 meters (10:29.18) and senior Emily Haynes took 15th place (10:32.05) in the same event. Van Klompenberg placed 14th in the women's 400 meters (1:01.91).

Sophomore Maycee Robinson wound up 12th in the weight throw (44-9.50) with sophomore Lindsay Greahling coming in 17th (38-0).

Meanwhile, on the men's side, the foursome of Trevor Holowaty, John Alberts, Ben Lentz and Roan Fahey placed fourth overall in the men's distance medley relay (10:36.64) while another grouping of Logan Hammer, Nate Meyer, Hunter Redman and Kyle Richardson took sixth place (10:39.74) in the same race.

Freshman Casey Neal finished ninth in the men's mile run (4:27.01) while sophomore Jake Morey came in 16th overall in the event (4:29.49).

Freshman Damien Halverson placed 15th in the 5,000 meters (16:02.16) and Logan Hammer was 18th in the 3,000 meters (8:50.26).

In the men's weight throw, junior Hayden Francisco placed eighth overall (50-10) and junior Tyler Satkowiak finished 16th (46-5.25). Ross Miller was ninth in the shot put (46-5.25) and Francisco came in 14th (44-3.25).

The Bulldogs will return to action again on Feb. 12-13 at the Grand Valley State Big Meet hosted by the Lakers in Allendale.
