Ferris State Track Squads Combine For 14 Top-10 Efforts At GLIAC Indoor Championships

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's indoor track and field squad squads wrapped up action in the 2022 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Indoor Championships on Sunday (Feb. 27) in Allendale.

The annual league event was hosted by Grand Valley State University and took part inside the Kelly Family Sports Center.

Overall, the Bulldogs finished sixth in the men's competition with 25 points and came in eighth overall in the women's field with 9.33 points.

Ferris State combined for a total of 14 top-10 finishes in the two-day league championships.

The Bulldogs' Ray Lee earned runner-up honors in the 60 meters (6.91) and was eighth in the 200 meters (23.30). Dakota Simpson came in sixth in the men's 400 meters (49.68).

FSU's Donis Harris placed fifth in the 5,000 meters (14:41.77) and was sixth in the 3,000 meters (8:23.85). His time in the 5,000 was a personal-best and the second-fastest time in school history.

Ferris State was also sixth in the men's 4x400-meter relay as the group of Randall Kuch, Noah Jones, Andrew Shafley and Simpson clocked 3:25.98 in the event. The Bulldogs were also sixth in the distance medley relay with the quartet of Kevin Wilson, Kuch, Shafley and Noah Griffith timed in 10:38.90.

FSU's Brianna Copley finished seventh in the women's shot put (44-8.75). Danae Feldpausch placed eighth in the women's 800 meters (2:16.26). Hanna Brock placed 10th in the women's mile (5:13.36).

Claudia Wilkinson tied for eighth place overall in the high jump (5-0.25) and Emma Stephayn wound up eighth in the weight throw (50-7.25).

The Bulldogs finished sixth in the distance medley relay as the group of Brock, Daisy England, Feldpausch and Sydney Kubiak clocked 12:27.71 in the race. FSU was also seventh in the women's 4x400-meter relay (4:11.97) with a tandem of Makayla Roberts, Englund, Madison Hammer and Feldpausch competing in the race.
