Ferris Runners Take Part In SVSU Invitational
Big Rapids, Mich. - Selected members of the Ferris State
University men's and women's cross country teams took part in the
Saginaw Valley State Cardinal Invitational on Friday (Sept. 25) at
University Center, Mich.
The Bulldog women's squad had three members competing while the
men's team had four runners compete and therefore did not have
enough participants to figure into the team scoring race.
FSU junior Sarah Creed (Saginaw/Swan Valley)
placed 24th overall in the field of 78 women's runners as she was
clocked in a time of 23:55.8 on the 5K course.
Freshman Avery Larson (Flint/Powers) finished 36th
in the field (24:31.2) and sophomore Elizabeth
Troost (Traverse City/West) came in 57th (26:05.5) for the
Bulldog women. Lia Jones of Oakland University was the
women's overall winner (21:53.5).
The Bulldog men's top finisher was freshman Alex
Bladecki (Bay City, Mich./Western), who took 29th
(27:16.6) among a field of 83 participants. The men's race
was captured by Addis Habtewold of Lansing Community College
(25:23.0).
Next up for FSU was freshman Michael Schulte
(Weidman, Mich./Mt. Pleasant Sacred Heart) in 40th place (27:44.2)
with freshman Andrew Campbell (Brownstown,
Mich./Woodhaven) placing 46th (28:31.6) and freshman
Michael Moy (Greenville, Mich.) coming in 75th
(31:10.5).
The remaining members of the Bulldogs' men's and women's teams will
take part in the Division II Pre-National Invitational on Saturday
(Sept. 26) morning in Evansville, Ind.
