Bulldog Cross Country Teams Race At Michigan State Spartan Invite

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's cross country teams returned to action on Friday (Sept. 15) by taking part in the Michigan State Spartan Invitational in East Lansing.

The 37th annual event took place at Forest Akers East Golf Course.

Nearly 300 runners took part in the women's race and the Bulldogs were led by sophomore Kathryn Etelamaki, who placed 24th overall in a time of 22:35.2.

FSU senior Natalie Perry came in 68th overall (24:03.1) with freshman Sydney Dawes 75th (24:08.8) followed by junior Jordan Lee in 89th place (24:26.9) and freshman Abigail Johnson 100th (24:23.8) among FSU's top five finishers in the non-team scoring event.

On the men's side, senior Trevor Holowaty led the way by finishing 78th overall (27:24.1) with junior Damien Halverson coming in 99th (27:44.2). Junior Casey Neal placed 107th (27:57.8) followed by junior Zach McKenzie in 120th place (28:14.1) and freshman Aaron Jarema 139th (28:44.8) for the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs will be back in action on Saturday, Sept. 30, at the Greater Louisville Classic in Louisville, Ky.
