Bulldog Cross Country Teams Race In Top Divisions At Greater Louisville Classic

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's cross country squads took part in one of the nation's largest and most prestigious events on Saturday (Oct. 5) as FSU raced in the Louisville Classic held at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Ky.

Both Bulldog teams competed in their respective "Gold" divisions, which consisted of many Division I programs and the top programs from various other levels across the country. The FSU women placed 29th with the men 37th in the field.

In the women's race, Bulldog senior Katie Etelamaki paced the Bulldogs as she clocked 17:46.0 in the 5K race to finish 36th in the field. Sophomore Paige Deitering was 146th (18:46.2) with junior Kylie Hutchinson 185th (18:58.4) and sophomore Hanna Loucks 186th (18:58.7). Junior Katelyn Hutchinson took 194th place (19:03.8) in scoring position.

On the men's side, the Bulldogs were led by junior Aaron Jarema, who finished the 8K course in a time of 25:44.2 for 194th place overall. Sophomore Donis Harris took 234th place (25:54.9) with junior Mark Jacobs 240th (25:57.0), junior Weston Rackley 243rd (25:58.1) and freshman Brandon Wirth 281st (26:26.4) as FSU's fifth finisher.

Ferris State will return to action on Friday, Oct. 11, at the Jayhawk Invitational in Muskegon with action also slated for next Saturday, Oct. 12, at the Lewis Crossover in Romeoville, Ill.
