Bulldog Cross Country Teams Wrap Up West Michigan Event In Muskegon

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's cross country teams sent selected student-athletes to the Muskegon Jayhawk Invitational held on Saturday (Oct. 16) in Muskegon.

The Bulldogs earned second place in the women's standings with 54 points while the men placed seventh overall with 200 points in the team race.

FSU was paced in the women's competition by Katrina Droski as she placed ninth overall in the 5K event at 19:37.68. The Bulldogs' Hanna Brock was 14th (19:52.72) with Paige Deitering 21st (20:25.26) and Claudia Baryo 25th (20:32.96). Allissa Ash took 32nd place (20:54.51) among the top five Bulldog finishers.

On the men's side, Ferris State was led by Nick Dennison, who completed the 8K course in a time of 27:26.59 in finishing 26th overall. Kevin Wilson was 39th (27:53.09) while Brendan Deneen came in 55th (28:19.27) and Ryan Kachnowski came in 68th (28:44.95). FSU's Luke Anderson rounded out the top five of the Bulldog lineup in 71st place (28:55.10).

Ferris State will compete in the 2021 GLIAC Championships on Oct. 23 in Saginaw.
