High School: Received all-state honorable mention and All-Northwest Conference honors at Frankfort (Mich.) High School in 2009 . . . Coached by Michael Thompson . . . A 2009 graduate . . . Earned both conference and team Most Valuable Player Award kudos in 2009 season . . . Achieved all-league recognition in both sophomore (2007) and junior (2008) seasons as an outfielder and shortstop, respectively . . . Four-year (2006-09) letterwinner in softball . . . Helped lead FHS to a district championship in 2009 and a state final runner-up showing in 2007 . . .
