High School: Received 2010 All-Southwestern Michigan Athletic Conference (SMAC) honors in senior year at Niles (Mich.) High . . . Twice (2009 and 2010) garnered academic all-state recognition . . . Graduated in 2010 . . . Coached by Gary Collins . . . Batted a .404 average with 42 hits in 104 at bats and had 20 RBIs in senior season . . . Generated eight doubles, six triples, one home run, four stolen bases, 28 runs scored, and a .433 on-base percentage as a senior for the 2010 campaign . . .
