First-Day Action Called Off With Schedule Adjusted For 2022 GLIAC Softball Tournament

Big Rapids, Mich. - Weather has impacted the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Softball Tournament and forced a schedule adjustment impacting the Ferris State University softball squad.

The Bulldogs were slated to open play in the eight-team tournament on Friday at Sports Force Parks in Sandusky, Ohio, but rain and wet weather forced the cancelation of the entire opening day of play.

Due to the weather and NCAA guidelines for completion of the tournament, the event has now been pushed to a single-elimination format starting on Saturday (May 7). The sixth-seeded Bulldogs will still face third-seeded Davenport in the first round with first pitch set for approximately 12:30 p.m. (ET).

The winners of each of the four quarterfinal-round contests will meet in the semifinals on Saturday afternoon with the Bulldogs slated to face either second-seeded Saginaw Valley State or seventh-seeded Wayne State at 4:30 p.m. (ET) with a win over Davenport in the opening round. The championship game is set for Sunday at 10 a.m. (ET).
