
FSU's Alexis Kozlowski Tabbed GLIAC Softball Player Of The Week
Big Rapids, Mich. - Ferris State University softball sophomore first baseman Alexis Kozlowski (Gaylord) has been chosen as the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Player of the Week.
Kozlowski had a big week as FSU posted a 3-1 record and stayed in second place in the GLIAC standings. She tallied a team-seven hits and six RBI's as FSU swept Davenport at home on Wednesday before garnering a league road split against first-place Saginaw Valley State on Saturday.
Overall, Kozlowski hit .538 for the week in four games and scored twice while also drawing a walk and posting a home run. For the week, she compiled a .769 slugging percentage and .571 on-base figure. The sophomore standout drove in four runs on two hits with a home run to open the week in a win over Davenport and also had five total hits and two RBI's in a two-game road set at SVSU on Saturday.
The Bulldogs will return home to host Wayne State in a rescheduled doubleheader on Tuesday, April 22, at the FSU Softball Field. The opening game begins at 3 p.m. (ET) with game two slated to follow at approximately 5 p.m. (ET) as the Bulldogs celebrate Senior Day in conjunction with the final home games.
