Big Second Half Gives Michigan Tech Win Over Bulldogs In GLIAC Women's Hoops

Big Rapids, Mich. - A big second half lifted the Michigan Tech Huskies over the Ferris State University women's basketball squad 72-37 on Thursday (Jan. 10) night in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play at Houghton, Mich.

The host Huskies led only 26-23 at halftime, but outscored FSU 21-8 in the third and 25-6 in the fourth period to pull out the win.

The Bulldogs, who were playing short handed due to injuries, were limited to 26% shooting overall, including a 1-of-11 (9%) figure beyond the three-point stripe.

Meanwhile, Michigan Tech finished shooting 40% from the floor and made 11-of-32 (34.4%) three's in the triumph while going nine-of-12 (75%) at the free throw line.

The Huskies also outrebounded FSU 57-29 for the night.

Ferris State received 13 points from sophomore guard Adrienne Anderson, but she was the lone FSU player to reach double-digits. Senior guard Alexis Bush added eight points in the effort.

Michigan Tech was paced by Cassidy Trotter's game-high 18 points with Hannah Hobson chipping in 14 points and Abbie Botz notching 13 points overall.

Ferris State fell to 7-6 on the year and 4-3 in the GLIAC with the setback.

The Bulldogs will visit Northern Michigan on Saturday (Jan. 12) for a 1 p.m. (ET) league contest in Marquette.
