Ferris State's Riley Blair Honored By GLIAC For Third Time This Season

Big Rapids, Mich. - For the third time this season, Ferris State University senior forward Riley Blair (Dearborn) has been chosen as the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) North Division Player of the Week.

Blair had another big week for the Bulldogs, who closed out a five-game GLIAC road swing by sweeping two games in Michigan's Upper Peninsula to stretch their winning streak to five consecutive contests, all of which were on the road.

Blair notched a team-high tying 19 points with four rebounds, two steals and an assist in Thursday's 66-60 triumph at Northern Michigan, helping FSU rally from an eight-point halftime deficit for the win. On Saturday, she came back with a career-high 30 points on 10-of-15 shooting with 11 rebounds in a double-double performance as FSU beat Michigan Tech 80-73 in overtime in Houghton. She added three blocks and an assist while converting nine-of-12 free throws in the win.

For the week, Blair averaged 24.5 points along with 7.5 rebounds a game for Ferris State.

Previously, Blair was honored by the GLIAC as the weekly award honoree for both weeks three and four of the year. Her selection represents the fifth time this season in which a Bulldog player has been chosen to receive the league's women's basketball distinction.

This week, Ferris State returns home to host Wisconsin-Parkside on Thursday (Jan. 23) night starting at 7:30 p.m. (ET) inside FSU's Jim Wink Arena. The Bulldogs then entertain Purdue Northwest on Saturday (Jan. 25) beginning at 3 p.m. (ET).
