Women's Golf Places Tied For Ninth At UIndy Fall Invitational

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf team carded a 668 team score in the two-day University of Indianapolis Fall Invitational to finish with a share of ninth place overall as final round play concluded on Monday (Sept. 22) in Camby, Ind.

The Bulldogs carded a 333 team score in Sunday's first 18 holes of action before coming back with a 335 figure on Monday to wrap up the 36-hole event at Heartland Crossing Golf Linx.

Host Indianapolis emerged as the team champion with a 620 score followed by California (Pa.) with a 625 and Arkansas Tech in third at 629 among the 18 competing schools.

Elizabeth Bauernfeind paced the Bulldogs with rounds of 78 and 75 for a 153 total, which earned her a share of seventh place individually. 

Meanwhile, Libby Berens placed tied for 31st in the field with a 165 figure on scores of 84 and 81 over the two days of action. Sophomore Kelsey McKinley was next in line as she shared 62nd place at 173 with rounds of 85 and 88 overall.

The Bulldogs' Jordan DuVall tied for 73rd in the draw with a 177 score as she shot an opening-round 86 followed by a 91 on Monday.

Finally, Claire Jansa rounded out the FSU lineup by placing 88th individually at 183 on rounds of 92 and 91 on Sunday and Monday, respectively.

Additionally, two FSU golfers competed as individuals and did not factor into the Bulldogs' team score. Gianna Dela Cruz shared 80th place with a 180 total on rounds of 93 and 87 while Morgan Zloto was 93rd in the field with a 188 score on orunds of 99 and 89 overall.

The Bulldogs head to Grand Valley State for action this weekend on Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 27-28) in Allendale.
