Bulldog Women's Golf Kicks Off Spring At Perry Park Spring Fling Tournament

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf team kicked off its spring campaign by taking 18th overall at the Perry Park Spring Fling Tournament held over the weekend on Saturday and Sunday (March 21-22) held at Perry Park (Ky.) Golf Resort.

The Bulldogs shot a three-round 1018 team total for the event, which featured 26 teams over the two days of action. FSU posted a 347 team score in round one followed by a 333 in the second round and a 338 in the final round.

Junior Libby Berens led the Bulldogs with a 242 score over the three rounds, which was good for a share of 43rd place overall in the large field. She posted a better score in each round as she opened the tournament with an 84 in round one before shooting a 81 in the second round and a 77 over the final 18 holes of action.

FSU sophomore Kelsey McKinley shared 77th place in the field with a 251 total on rounds of 85 in the first, 80 in the second and 86 in the final round.

Behind McKinley was sophomore Jordan Duvall, who came in tied for 103th in the field. She opened with an 86 before carding a 82 in round two followed by a 95 in the final round to finish at 263 for the three rounds.

FSU junior Elizabeth Bauernfeind placed tied for 109th at 265. After opening with a 92, she also improved each round with a 90 in the second round before finishing with an 83 in the final round.

Finally, freshman Olivia Pizii was 137th overall at 285 on rounds of 95, 98 and 92 for the tournament.

Fellow Ferris State freshman Claire Jansa competed as an individual and shot a first-round 89 score before withdrawing from the field.

The Bulldogs are back in action on March 29-30 at a tournament hosted by Ohio Dominican. The event will be held in Pataskala, Ohio.
