Ferris State Women's Golf Takes Eighth Place At NC4K College Classic In Ohio
Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf team concluded action in the NC4K College Classic with an eighth-place overall finish among a field of 18 teams as competition concluded on Monday (March 30) at the Jefferson Country Club in Blacklick, Ohio.
The Bulldogs, who entered the final round of the two-day event in fourth place overall, concluded the 36 holes of action with a 689 team score. FSU shot a 335 team figure in the first round on Sunday before notching a 354 total in Monday's final round.
Junior Libby Berens led the Bulldogs as she placed tied for 16th in the field with a 165 score on rounds of 82 and 83 overall.
Behind Berens was junior Elizabeth Bauernfeind in a tied for 25th place at 169. She posted an 85 in round one before shooting an 84 in round two.
FSU sophomore Jordan Duvall carded a 177 total on rounds of 85 and 92 to place tied for 49th overall with sophomore Kelsey McKinley finishing tied for 57th on the par 72 course with a 180 figure. She shot an 83 in round one to go with a 97 in the final round.
Finally, junior Olivia Pizii tied for 86th at 196 with a first-round 101 total followed by a 95 in the final 18 holes of action.
FSU sophomore Claire Jansa also competed as an individual and was 45th overall with a score of 175 for the tournament. Jansa shot a 91 in the first round before coming back with an 84 on Monday.
Seven of the top eight teams in the 18-hole field came from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).
Ferris State is back in action this Sunday and Monday, April 5-6, at a tournament hosted by Indiana-Fort Wayne in Fort Wayne, Ind.
