Bulldog Women's Golf Sits Fifth After Round One At Northwood Invite

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf team posted a 312 team score and is currently fifth overall after day one action on Monday (Oct. 3) at the Northwood University Invitational in Midland.

The Bulldogs are 16 strokes behind team leader Findlay as the Oilers posted a 296 total in day one competition. Northern Michigan sits second (300) with host Northwood third (306) and Ashland fourth (310) in front of FSU at the Midland Country Club.

A total of 11 teams are taking part in the two-round event played on a par 70 course measuring 5,851 yards.

Ferris State was led by Destiny Lawson, who is presently tied for fifth place overall with a 74 in the first 18 holes of action.

Behind Lawson is Elizabeth Bauernfeind in a share of 14th place with a first-round 77 score followed by Sydney Murphy in a tie for 24th with an 80 in the opening round.

The Bulldogs' Morgan Zloto carded an 81 and is tied for 28th in the field with Jordan Duvall tied for 36th overall with a 83 in round one.

The opening day action took place on a wet and soft course with little wind.

Action wraps up in the tournament with final round play on Tuesday in Midland.
