Ferris State Women's Golf Opens Play In 2018 GLIAC Championships

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf team began play in the 2018 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships on Friday (April 20) at The Virtues Golf Club in Nashport, Ohio.

In round one of the 54-hole event, the Bulldogs shot a 347 figure. Northern Michigan posted the lowest score with a 309 mark in the opening 18 holes of play.

FSU was led by freshman Baylee Thompson, who shot an 81 in the first round and is presently tied for 18th overall.

She was followed by Mark Suokko in the Bulldog lineup. Suokko is currently tied for 34th after a first-round 86 score.

Next up for the Bulldogs was Margo Brown in a share of 42nd place with an 89. Behind her was Katelin Randolph, who shot a 91 and is tied for 45th overall.

Finally, FSU's Izzy Flack posted a 97 and is 52nd in the field following day one play.

Action continues at the GLIAC Championships with round two play on Saturday (April 21) followed by the final round on Sunday (April 22).
