Ferris State Finishes 11th At Gilda's Club Laker Fall Invite

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf team concluded action Sunday (Sept. 30) in the 10th annual Gilda's Club Laker Fall Invite hosted by Grand Valley State at The Meadows Golf Course in Allendale.

The Bulldogs shot a two-round 686 figure to finish 11th overall in the field during the two-day event. After carding a 339 in round one, FSU shot a 347 in Sunday's final round of action.

Junior Margo Brown tied for 33rd overall as the Bulldogs' top finisher with a 168 score over the two rounds. She shot an 83 in round one followed by an 85 in the finale.

Meanwhile, Gia Dela Cruz came in tied for 39th at 170 with a first-round 86 figure and a final-round 84 total.

Freshman Mackenzie Dale placed tied for 44th with a 171 on scores of 81 in round one and 90 in round two while Mari Suokko finished tied for 58th at 177. Suokko posted an 89 in the first 18 holes of action before coming back with an 88 in the final round.

Finally, Elaina Derose wound up 68th overall with a 185 score. She shot a 91 in the opening round and concluded the event with a 94 over the final 18 holes of action.

The Bulldogs will be back in action on Oct. 8-9 at the Findlay Beall Fall Classic in Findlay, Ohio.
