Ferris State Women's Golf Opens Campaign With 329 Score At SVSU Spring Invite

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf team opened the 2021 campaign with its first round on Saturday (March 20) and the Bulldogs shot a 329 team score and are currently tied for seventh place overall at the Saginaw Valley State Spring Invitational.

FSU carded a +41 effort in round one and is tied with McKendree for seventh overall in the 17-team field at the Cherry Blossom Golf Course in Georgetown, Ky.

Tiffin holds the day one lead after shooting an impressive 312 score in the initial 18 holes of action followed by Wayne State (317) and Saginaw Valley State (318) in the top three overall.

Ferris State was led by Alayna Eldred, who shot a four-over 76 and is tied for fifth in the individual field.

The Bulldogs' Elaina Derose posted a 78 and is tied for 11th overall while Abby Grevel shot an 87 and is currently tied for 53rd.

Meanwhile, the Bulldogs' Mackenzie Dale came in tied for 62nd overall with an 88 and Lauren Kempf rounded out the FSU lineup with a 90, which was good for a share of 70th place.

The Bulldogs will take part in the final round on Sunday (March 21) with tee times set to begin at 9 a.m. (ET).
