Bulldog Women's Golf Improves Score By 18 Strokes In Final Round To Finish Sixth At NC4K Classic

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf squad improved its score by 18 strokes in the final round to finish sixth overall at the NC4K Classic, which finished on Tuesday (April 6) at the Jefferson Country Club in Blacklick, Ohio.

The Bulldogs, who shot a first-round 328 score on Monday, came back with a 310 figure in Tuesday's final 18 holes of action to finish with a 638 figure in the 36-hole event on the course measuring in at 5,904 yards.

Overall, Indianapolis took first place (606) with Findlay second (610) and Grand Valley State third (617) in the field of 14 teams.

The Bulldogs were led by Alayna Eldred, who shot a 154 total on rounds of 78 and 76 to finish tied for 12th overall.

FSU's Mackenzie Dale placed tied for 22nd with a 158 mark as she shot scores of 81 and 77 over the two rounds.

Dale was followed by Danielle Staskowski in the Bulldog lineup. She carded a 162 figure on rounds of 80 and 82 to finish 35th in the field.

The Bulldogs' Elaina DeRose bettered her opening round 93 score with an 18-stroke improvement of her own, shooting a 75 in the final round to finish tied for 50th at 168 for the tournament.

Finally, Abby Grevel came in 69th overall at 177 on scores of 89 and 88 over the first and second rounds, respectively.

The Bulldog women's squad will next take part in the Walsh Invitational set for April 11-12 in Canton, Ohio.
