Women's Golf Takes Seventh Place In Large Field At Beall Fall Classic

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf team finished in seventh place overall at the William Beall Fall Classic, which wrapped up on Tuesday (Oct. 5) with final-round action in Findlay, Ohio.

The Bulldogs concluded competition with a 930 overall team score after notching a 310 team score over the final 18 holes of action. FSU had shot a 308 score in round one and a 312 total in the second round during day one play on Monday.

Overall, the Bulldogs were only a single shot out of sixth place and only six strokes away from finishing in the top five overall of the 18-school event held at the Findlay Country Club.

Ferris State was led by Hope Thebo as she shot a 76 in the final round to place tied for 19th in the field with a 229 figure. Previously, she carded a 74 in the first round and a 79 in round two.

The Bulldogs' Alayna Eldred placed tied for 27th with a 231 total on rounds of 75 over the opening 18 holes followed by back-to-back 78 scores in the final two rounds.

FSU's Dani Staskowski finished with a 232 score and placed tied for 31st after shooting her second consecutive 77 in the final round on Tuesday. She had shot a 78 in the first round before the two rounds of 77 over the final 36 holes.

Meanwhile, Abby Grevel recorded a 244 total for the 54 holes and came in tied for 57th overall. She shot an 85 in round one followed by a 78 in the middle round and closed with an 81 on Tuesday.

Finally, Lauren Kempf finished tied for 65th in the field at 246 overall, shooting a 79 in the last round after opening with scores of 81 and 86 in rounds one and two, respectively, on Monday.

The Bulldogs will next take part in the Tiffin Fall Classic on Oct. 11-12 in Tiffin, Ohio.
