Ferris State Women's Golf Fourth After Round One At Tiffin Fall Invitational

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf team opened action in fourth place following round one competition on Monday (Oct. 11) at the Tiffin Fall Invitational in Tiffin, Ohio.

The Bulldogs shot a first-round 339 team score and sit fourth of the eight competing teams at +51 overall heading into Tuesday's final round of action. FSU is only seven shots out of third place and trails leader and host Tiffin by 15 total strokes going into the last 18 holes of the tournament.

Ferris State was led in round one by Alayna Eldred, who shot a 81 on Monday and sits tied for fifth overall.

The Bulldogs' Lauren Kempf carded an 85 in the opening round of the 36-hole event and is tied for 17th overall while Abby Grevel shot a 86 and is tied for 20th in the field.

FSU's Hope Thebo was a stroke behind Grevel with an 86 in the first-round and is 23rd overall on the individual leaderboard going into the final round. 

Finally, Dani Staskowski came in tied for 24th after round one with an 88 on the day.

Tuesday's final round of action on the par 72 course at the Mohawk Golf and Country Club begins at 9 a.m. (ET).
