FSU Women's Golf Battles Elements In Opening Round Of NC4K Classic

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf team shot a first-round 346 team score while battling wet and rainy conditions in the opening round of the NC4K College Classic, which began on Monday (April 4) at the Jefferson Country Club in Blacklick, Ohio.

The Bulldogs currently its 11th in the field at +58 following round one with the final round of action set for Tuesday. A total of 19 teams are taking part in the annual event hosted by Ohio Dominican University.

FSU was led in Monday's opening round by Alayna Eldred, who shot an 80 and is currently tied for 19th individually on the leaderboard.

The Bulldogs' Lauren Kempf sits tied for 40th after carding a first-round 85 mark with Hope Thebo five shots back in a share of 61st place following her opening score of 90 on Monday.

Ferris State's Abby Grevel shot a 91 and is tied for 65th overall with Juanita De La Cruz rounding out the lineup in a share of 74th place with a 94 in the first round of action.

Tuesday's final round of play will get underway at 9:30 a.m. (ET).
