Bulldog Women's Golf Fifth After First Round At GLIAC Championships

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf team carded a 318 team score and sits fifth overall heading into round two at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships.

The Bulldogs finished Friday's opening round at +30 overall and are only five shots behind Saginaw Valley State, which sits fourth with a 313 score.

The top four teams following Saturday's second round will advance to the GLIAC Semifinals, which will also begin on Saturday afternoon due to impending weather conditions on Sunday.

FSU's Abby Grevel shot a 78 in round one and sits tied for 14th overall for FSU on the individual leaderboard.

Meanwhile, the trio of Alayna Eldred, Danielle Staskowski and Hope Thebo all shot 80 scores and are in a tied for 22nd overall.

Finally, Lauren Kempf finished the first round with an 85 and is tied for 29th in the field.

Action in round two gets underway on Saturday morning starting at 9 a.m. (ET) at the Stonehedge Golf Club in Augusta, Mich.
