Bulldog Women's Golf Finishes Fifth At GLIAC Championships

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf team concluded play on Saturday (April 23) in the 2022 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships with a fifth-place overall team finish.

FSU carded a two-round 636 team score (+60), totaling a 636 team figure at the Stonehedge Golf Club's North Course, which measured 5,829 yards as a par 72 layout.

The top four teams advanced to the GLIAC Semifinals with FSU finishing just out of advancing spot.

The Bulldogs were led by Alayna Eldred, who finished with a 155 total that was good for 13th place. She shot a second-round 75 score after notching a 80 in round one.

FSU's Danielle Staskowski shot a 77 in round two following her first-round 80 figure and placed tied for 18th overall at 157 for the two rounds of competition.

Ferris State's Abby Grevel finished with a 163 score and placed tied for 24th overall, carding an 83 in round two after shooting a 78 in Friday's first round.

Meanwhile, FSU's Hope Thebo came in tied for 27th with a 163 total. Thebo shot a 80 in round one and an 83 n the second round.

Finally, Lauren Kempf placed tied for 37th in the pack with a 170 figure, shooting back-to-back 85 scores.
