Ferris State Women's Golf Closes Out Season With Final Round At NCAA D2 National Championships

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf team closed out the season on Thursday (May 15) with final-round play at the 2025 NCAA Division II National Championships in Boulder City, Nev.

After notching a 314 team figure in the first round, the Bulldogs came back with a 285 score in round two of play in the 54-hole event on Wednesday and then closed the tournament with a 304 figure in the final round.

FSU finished 17th overall with a 903 team total during the stroke play championships at the Boulder Creek Golf Club.

Overall, Dallas Baptist claimed first place with an 845 total followed by Cal-State San Marcos (850) and Flagler (851) in the top three overall. The top eight teams on the leaderboard advanced to the head-to-head medal match play quarterfinals.

FSU was led by Kylie Walker, who finished 55th overall with a 222 figure. She shot a first-round 75 followed by a 71 in round two and a 76 in the final round.

The Bulldogs' Lizzie Anderson placed tied for 70th overall with a 224 figure, carding an impressive 70 on Wednesday after her opening round score of 80 on day one. She finished with a 74 in the last round.

Ferris State's Kamryn Shannon tied for 80th at 228 overall as she shot a 70 in the second round after previously coming in with an 83 in the opening round. Her final round came in at 75 for FSU.

Ashley Thomasma finished tied for 84th place at 230 overall. She notched a 76 in the first round and came back with a 74 in the second round before closing with an 80 in the third and final round.

Finally, Susie Gietl took 92nd on the leaderboard at 242 for the tourney, recording an 85 the first day followed by a 78 in day two action and a 79 in the last round.

The Bulldogs were making their first appearance in the national finals in 16 years. This year's trip to the national championship finals represented FSU's 10th in school history and first since 2009.
