Women's Soccer Registers League Road Win At Tiffin

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's soccer team went on the road and came out with a hard-fought 1-0 win over the Tiffin Dragons in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play on Friday (Oct. 12) in Tiffin, Ohio.

FSU scored the only goal of the contest at 82:16 as Riley Wood found the back of the net off assists from senior Amanda Foster and Taylor DiCicco.

The Bulldogs held a decisive 17-4 edge in total shots for the day, including a 9-2 margin in shots on goal.

Senior goalkeeper Rachel McCollum had two saves in notching the victory for FSU.  Meanwhile, Lindsey Gallagher went the distance for the Dragons and took the loss despite making eight saves.

FSU totaled 15 fouls to nine for Tiffin and the Bulldogs also held a 5-2 advantage in corner kick tries.

Freshman Casey Shauman paced FSU with a contest-high five shots, including two on goal.  Hunter Dolan also had a pair of shots on net for the Bulldogs.

With the win, Ferris State improved to 5-4-3 overall and 4-2-2 in GLIAC play.  The Dragons dropped to 5-5-2 overall and 3-3-2 in league competition.

Ferris State wraps up its two-match trip to Ohio by facing Findlay on Sunday, Oct. 14, in Findlay, Ohio.  The contest begins at 12 p.m. (ET).
