FSU's Tia VanSuilichem Tabbed As GLIAC Soccer Defensive Player Of The Week

Big Rapids, Mich. - Senior defender Tia VanSuilichem (Caledonia) of the Ferris State University women's soccer squad has been chosen as this week's Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Defensive Player of the Week.

VanSuilichem made the most of this past weekend as she helped lead the Bulldogs to back-to-back decisive home wins over Wisconsin-Parkside and Purdue Northwest at the Bulldog Soccer Field.

On Friday, she scored a goal in FSU's 4-1 win over the Rangers and then came back on Sunday on her Senior Day with a goal and an assist for three points.

For the weekend, she finished with six shots, including two on goal for the Bulldogs, who moved to 12-2-1 overall.

VanSuilichem totaled five points in the two contests as FSU outscored the opposition 11-1 overall.

Ferris State returns to action at Davenport on Friday (Oct. 25) starting at 4 p.m. (ET) for a GLIAC encounter at Meyering Field, which is located at the Farmer's Insurance Athletic Complex in Caledonia.
